Ford offers SYNC + Ford's Applink with the EcoSport

Ford SYNC made its Indian debut with the EcoSport. The 2014 Fiesta received an updated version of SYNC with Ford's AppLink system which enables users to access mobile phone applications via voice commands.

Starting this month, SYNC with Ford AppLink will be available on the Titanium variant of Ford EcoSport across all dealership in India.

The mobile phone applications available on Ford AppLink™ in India include ESPN Cricinfo to get cricket updates on the move, especially with the World Cup in full swing. Also, it will feature a location-based app 'explore' by MapMyIndia and a global, secure location sharing app – Glympse. The addition of these apps will allow customers to get information about their nearest attractions and food destinations among others.

The EcoSport compact SUV has been enjoying the first-mover advantage in its segment, selling ~4,250 units each month. This SUV has remained Ford's only focus (no pun intended) for the longest time. The company expects this added technology to sustain interest in the market for this car.
