Ford Equator with XUV500-like dashboard spied

The Ford Equator is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 218 BHP.

New images of the Ford Equator 7-seat SUV have leaked online. The latest images reveal the car's dashboard which looks quite similar to the one in the upcoming Mahindra XUV500. 

The Equator is manufactured by Ford's Chinese partner Jiangling Motors Corporation Ltd. The SUV measures 4,905 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, 1,755 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,865 mm.

In terms of styling, the Equator features a bold front end with a large black grille with L-shaped LED daytime running lights on either side. Triple pod headlamps are positioned lower down on the bumper - a setup similar to the MG Hector.

In side profile, the Equator looks like a smaller version of the Endeavour with the rear featuring slim tail lamp clusters and a light bar in between. The test car was riding on stylish looking silver alloy wheels and had twin exhaust tips.

The Equator gets a dual-tone interior with a large floating display that houses the instrument cluster on one side and the touchscreen infotainment on the other. Apart from the gaudy colour combination, the car gets wooden trim. The overall layout of the dashboard is similar to the next-gen Mahindra XUV500. The car is equipped with features such as climate control, panoramic sunroof and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The Ford Equator is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 218 BHP. It is expected to be offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.
