Ford Endeavour spotted at ARAI, Pune

Ford has been testing the new Endeavour in India since a few months. Now, the SUV has been spotted at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) along with the Mustang, which is also expected to be launched in the country.

The Endeavour is expected to be assembled in India from CKD kits imported from Thailand. It will be pitted against the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and SsangYong Rexton.
The new Endeavour is based on the Ranger pick-up truck and features a body-on-frame construction. It has a trapezoidal grille with horizontal slats, projector headlamps, side steps, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, alloy wheels and a horizontal chrome strip running across its tailgate between the tail lamp clusters. The bumpers sport silver skid plates.

The interiors of the new Endeavour are expected to be more modern compared to the outgoing model with a redesigned dashboard and centre console, modern controls for the air-conditioner and a new Ford SYNC2 infotainment system.

Engine options for the new Endeavour are likely to include 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder and 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder diesel units. Manual and automatic transmission versions with two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations are expected to be available. Ford's Terrain Management System, which has four preset settings - normal, snow/gravel/grass, sand and rock, is also likely to be provided as well.
