Ford Endeavour could be relaunched as the 'Everest' in India

The Endeavour is sold under the Everest brand in Australia and Thailand.

According to a media report, Ford is likely to bring the new Endeavour to India. However, this time, the SUV could be branded as ‘Everest’.

The Endeavour is sold under the Everest brand in Australia and Thailand. Ford plans to import the SUV into the Indian market before starting local assembly in 2025. Retaining the 'Everest' badge would help the company lower costs.

The report, citing a company source, states that Ford cannot build the Everest SUV in isolation as it has to fit into one integral production plan with other products. This might delay the production of Everest in India to late 2025 or 2026. Therefore, the carmaker is considering importing a small number of units initially.

That being said, details of the India-spec Ford Everest are still a bit hazy. In the international market, the SUV is offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine with either a single or a twin-turbo. The SUV also comes with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 10-speed automatic in either a 2-wheel drive or a 4-wheel drive configuration.
