Finding it hard to replace my BMW 328i; What replacement car can I buy?

I use the BMW 328i for no more than 20-25 KMS a day, with the occasional longer day of driving (of no more than 100 KMS). A few things I really like about the car and would like in my next car too

BHPian UD_328i recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Back in 2018 I bought myself a BMW 328i from BMW's premium selection in Worli, Mumbai. I wrote about it here earlier (https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post4898930).

I have retained it these past 7 years and the car has been an absolute joy! Even today I thoroughly enjoy driving it and nothing else seems to come close.

At the end of this month, the car is completing 12 years, with 90k on the odo, and I have been considering if I should find a replacement. It still has 3 more years of life in NCR and to tell you the truth, I can't seem to make up my mind since I have been thoroughly spoilt by the 328i. No car seems like a worthy successor. Sure a Panamera would be great but then who has money growing on trees?

So just a bit about my usage, the 328i is my daily driver and I use it only in the city (I have another Q2 for the hills). I use the 328i for no more than 20-25 KMS a day, with the occasional longer day of driving (of no more than 100 KMS). A few things I really like about the car (and would like in my next car too):

1. I find it very well balanced. It drives like a comfortable sedan when it needs to and can be an absolute beast with the push of the pedal. It has all the power one needs and could legally use on the road (I have never taken it to a track).

2. I also like its size and have no need for a larger car. The rear seats are barely used and TBH I could do with an even smaller footprint.

3. The fact that it's rear wheel drive. Not keen to switch to a front wheel drive car after this.

4. Being a 2013 car, it's not big on screens. It has physical buttons instead, and I like that!

5. The low and sporty driving position; the heads-up display; the music system; etc.

So if I were to "upgrade", keeping these factors in mind, does anyone have any suggestions?

I am biased towards BMWs, and have considered the 3Li, though I have no use for the rear seats and of course its a larger car. The M340i, downside being the stiffer ride and frankly the kind of power on tap I would never end up using. The 2 series is honestly the perfect size, but it's front wheel drive. Another used 330i maybe? But there aren't too many in the market and none at any BMW premium selection (which would be my preference).

I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks a ton!
