Fiat Punto facelift leaked

The Fiat Punto facelift has been spotted testing on numerous occasions wearing a lot of camouflage, particularly at the front and rear. However, at a recent presentation, the company displayed an image which revealed some of the changes the Punto facelift would get.

From the image we can see that the Punto gets a redesigned front grille and new headlights, which resemble those of the Avventura concept that was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo. The bumper has been restyled to accommodate a wide airdam and chrome-lined fog lamp enclosures. The design of the alloy wheels of the car has also been changed.

While there are no pictures of the car's rear, we do believe that it will get a new rear bumper and tail light clusters. A restyled hatch is also a possibility.

The Punto facelift is likely to continue with the same engines and transmissions that do duty in the current model. The current range includes 1.2-litre, 68 PS and 1.4-litre 90 PS petrol engines and a 1.3-litre, diesel motor that is available in 75 PS and 90 PS states of tune. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission available.

Our previous report on the car contained pictures which showed that the Punto facelift would get similar interiors to the Linea sedan, which was also displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo.

Fiat India is planning to introduce a facelifted Punto hatchback later this year.
