Euro NCAP crash tests: Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class scores 5-stars

The Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class crossover has come out of the Euro NCAP crash tests with flying colours, scoring a full 5-star safety rating. The GLC gets safety features like collision prevention assist plus, crosswind assist, headlamp assist and attention assist as standard.

The driving assistance package plus adds features like distronic plus with steering assist and Stop & Go Pilot, PRE-SAFE brake with pedestrian detection, BAS PLUS with cross-traffic assist, active blind spot assist, active lane keeping assist and PRE-SAFE PLUS.

Safety tech on offer also includes dual front airbags, a driver knee airbag, side head airbags, side chest airbags and side pelvis airbags. The GLC is also equipped with an active bonnet which is raised by 80 millimetres during an impact to provide additional deformation space. Unlike its predecessor (the GLK), the GLC has been designed to cater to right hand drive markets as well and it could make its way to India next year.
