The company representatives had earlier met Government of India - Ministry of Heavy Industries and ARAI on October 29, 2015, and agreed to fully co-operate in this matter. Volkswagen has confirmed the receipt of this notice and will respond to the same by November 30, 2015.

If guilty, the VW Group is likely to recall all the vehicles fitted with EA 189 diesel engine in India for corrective measures, which includes cars from the VW, Skoda and Audi family having the 1.2L, 1.5L, 1.6L and 2.0L TDi engines.
