Daimler India signs MoU for new Vocational Diploma Program

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the PSG Polytechnic College, Coimbatore. Under this MoU, the PSG College and Daimler India will be offering a vocational diploma program in automobile sector. The course has been certified by the Department of Technical Education (DoTE).

The course duration is one year. PSG College will be responsible for providing the academic knowledge, while Daimler India will be providing skill-based knowledge. Twenty blue collar workers of Daimler India will participate in the inaugural course to receive skill training (Level 5 of NVEQF/NSQF) as per AICTE curriculum. Participants will be awarded a vocational diploma in automobile skill sector on successful completion of the course.

DICV has been offering similar vocational training to its workers since 2013. 75 employees have completed the training program till date, while 96 are currently participating in various streams. These training programs are offered at the company's integrated training centre, which is located within the production plant premises in Oragadam, Chennai.
