Buying a used Scala petrol: List of preventive maintenance items I did

I took the vehicle to my FNG near Ullalu for the paint job on the boot door and top panel, where the paint had developed flakes.

BHPian deehunk recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Since the used car dealer had given a new battery free of cost, I immediately booked a 35AH battery for doorstep fitment. The new battery was installed promptly by the Tyresnmores guy the same day at my doorstep. The next day was the first highway drive of Scala to Mysore to the ASS Vidhatri Motors. I had fixed an appointment for the 70K km service on the previous day. The vehicle was taken inside for a complete check-up, and in the meantime, the CRM, Mr. Sandeep, helped me by providing the complete service history since December 2012. This was when I realized that though there were no major accidents, still, the vehicle had been repainted 3 times within 3 months in 2017. The job carried out at the ASS was,

  • Check of Front/Rear Axles
  • Wheel balancing/Tyre rotation
  • Radiator coolant replacement
  • Vehicle diagnostics to check for any meter tampering
  • Fumigation and under-chassis coating

I took the services of Tyresnmores for replacing old tyres at my doorstep, special thanks to their team for same day delivery and fitment despite heavy showers. I opted for CEAT tyres, and one old tyre which was in good condition was retained as the spare tyre.

I took the vehicle to my FNG near Ullalu for the paint job on the boot door and top panel, where the paint had developed flakes. The painter was an ex-employee of Trident, and his workmanship was good. I have driven the car for 1.5K kms now and am happy with the vehicle. There are 3 pending works on the vehicle,

  • Alternator belt replacement
  • Radiator Shroud motor replacement
  • Compressor clutch servicing

The service team at Renault Mangalore responded positively to the replacement work and placed an order immediately during my visit yesterday. I found another Scala in good condition at the dealeship.
