Ford is gearing up to launch a new version of the EcoSport in the Brazilian market called the Storm. Leaked images of the vehicle indicate that it gets a more rugged looking exterior than the standard car model. According to media reports, it will also be equipped with a four-wheel drive system.
The images reveal that the EcoSport Storm gets an F-150 Raptor-inspired radiator grille with 'Storm' lettering and the fog lamp surrounds and bumper inserts are finished in matte black. Further, it gets black wheel arches as well as matte black ORVMs, door handles and roof rails. The B-pillar and 17-inch alloy wheels are also finished in black, while there are black decals on the sides and on the bonnet.
The interior of the EcoSport Storm is identical to the regular EcoSport in design. It features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and orange inserts on the centre console.
It is reported that the EcoSport Storm will be offered with a 2.0-litre Direct Flex engine that produces 168 BHP and 202 Nm of torque while running on petrol. Running on ethanol, this engine produces 174 BHP and 221 Nm of torque. The car is expected to be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and a four-wheel drive system.
There is no word on the EcoSport Storm coming to India.
