BMW X5 M, X6 M spied in India

Last year, BMW unveiled the X5 M and X6 M at the Los Angeles Motor Show. We had reported that the two models would be launch in India in the second half of 2015. Now, the two vehicles have been spotted in the country, indicating that the launch may be nearing.

The X5 M and X6 M are high performance versions of the X5 and X6, engineered by BMW's M Division. They are equipped with BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system and powered by a 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine featuring the company's TwinPower turbo technology. The engine puts out 567 BHP @ 6000-6500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque @ 2200-5000 rpm and is mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. BMW claims that both models can do a 0-100 kph sprint in 4.2 seconds and hit a limited to speed of 250 kph. Both the cars feature more powerful brakes to match the increased performance of the engine.

On the cosmetic front, BMW has given both vehicles new bumpers, larger air intakes, rear spoilers, chrome-finished, quad exhausts and 20-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, both cars get M steering wheels, gearshift knobs, sports seats, instrument clusters and door sills among other features. Both cars are loaded with equipment and safety features.

BMW will bring the X5 M and X6 M to India through the CBU route.
