BMW has launched the refreshed version of the 5 Series in India. The premium executive sedan is available in three variants - 530i M Sport, 520d Luxury Line and 530d M Sport, with prices starting at Rs. 62.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated 5 Series gets a few cosmetic changes including slimmer LED headlights that feature L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The M Sport variants get BMW Laserlight. BMW has also updated the kidney grille, which is now slightly larger than before. The car gets new front and rear bumpers, reworked LED tail lights and trapezoidal exhaust tips.
On the inside, the 5 Series facelift gets a reworked dashboard and a 12.3-inch touchscreen head unit with BMW's iDrive 7 infotainment system that has BMW Gesture Control, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The car comes equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 4-zone automatic climate control and Sports Seats (530i only).
The 5 Series is available with one petrol and two diesel engine options. The 530i comes with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 244 BHP @ 5,200 rpm and 350 Nm @ 1,450-4,800 rpm.
The 520d uses a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel motor that makes 188 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1,750-2,500 rpm, while the 530d comes with a meaty 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder oil burner that puts out 261 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 620 Nm @ 2,000-2,500 rpm. All engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Online bookings done till July 24, 2021, will qualify for an attractive offer on limited units of the M Sport variant. BMW is offering a discount of up to 50% on a select range of M Performance accessories available for these cars.
