BMW has already launched the updated 5 Series in the international market. Now, the company has revealed that it is planning to introduce the car in India on June 24.
The refreshed 5 Series gets some cosmetic changes including new LED headlights that feature L-shaped LED daytime running lights, a slightly larger twin-kidney radiator grille and a new front bumper. At the rear, the car gets reworked LED tail lights and a bumper with integrated trapezoidal exhaust tips.
On the inside, the 5 Series facelift gets a reworked dashboard and a 10.3-inch touchscreen head unit with BMW's iDrive 7 infotainment system. The car could also come with a digital instrument cluster.
While BMW is yet to reveal the powertrain options that will be offered in the updated 5 Series, we can expect it to get the same 2.0-litre petrol, 2.0-litre diesel and 3.0-litre diesel engines as before. The 2.0-litre petrol unit makes 244 BHP and 350 Nm, while the 2.0-litre diesel puts out 188 BHP and 400 Nm. The top-spec 3.0-litre diesel develops a 257 BHP and 690 Nm. All three engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
