Attended T.W.O Track riding school with my Aprilia RSV4

The RSV4 was in her element at the race track as always.

Jan 2024 TWO track school

I finally made it to the track school this weekend and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We had a mix of Level 1 and Open sessions as usual over Friday and Saturday. It was nice to meet a different set of students this time, more of the thinking type, and had to be reminded multiple times to just go out there and ride and carry that experience back as learning instead of trying to overthink it in their minds. It was also a nice weekend to catch up with old friends, people who've been coming to the track school for a decade now.

The RSV4 was in her element at the race track as always. Eager to show her prowess. It took the first couple of sessions to get back to grips with the power delivery, the sharpness of the brake, and the handling of the motorcycle. Post that, it was easier to ride at pace. I'd been doing some body weight-based workouts in recent times, and that helped with endurance. Having said that, wielding a weapon like the RSV4 needs one to be in top shape, and that's the exact realization I walked away with.

I managed a very good session with fellow instructor Rishi in the second half of the first day. We did some fast but comfortable laps and that was very enjoyable. I pushed a little bit and discovered that Aprilia is so forgiving, especially that front end. You can take all sorts of liberties with the front brake going into the corner, and she'll reward you with superb feedback all through. Something for me to learn and upskill more in order to make the best use of this package.

Next up, planning to do some preventive maintenance. Given I've been running high-octane fuel all this while, I'm planning to use Redline's fuel system cleaner (to be mixed with petrol in the tank) to clean up the fuel system of any accumulated deposits.

After riding at the Chennai track for two days, I honestly did not find any difference in the crispness of the fueling. Perhaps riding in March/April in the Chennai heat might show up something. Also, I'm running Gabro's map which has been fine-tuned for individual cylinders, so that might be also masking this overall. Anyway, I will continue to observe this and post back more observations.

With regards to the livery, I'm happy with this and most likely continue running this.
