Ather Energy has launched a new family-oriented electric scooter in the Indian market. The Ather Rizta is available in two variants – S and Z, with prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ather Rizta adopts a more conventional design, prioritizing practicality and rider comfort. The e-scooter features a horizontal LED headlamp, a slim wraparound taillight and a digital instrument console.
The Riza has a flat seat with a pillion backrest. At 900 mm in length, it is said to be the largest of any scooter in India. It has a 34-litre underseat storage bin and an additional 22-litre frunk that is available as an option.
Rizta is available with two battery options. The base S variant comes with a 2.9 kWh battery pack offering a range of 105 km. The Rizta Z is available with either a 2.9 kWh or 3.7 kWh battery. The latter offers a range of 125 km on a single charge. The scooter has two riding modes – Smart Eco and Zip and can reach a top speed of 80 km/h.
When it comes to features, the Rizta is equipped with a 7-inch digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, auto hill hold and a reverse mode. The base variant gets the ‘deepview’ LCD display. The e-scooter has an underseat wireless charger for the 'Ather Halo' smart helmet.
The Rizta also features 'Ather Skid Control'. It is essentially a traction control system that uses speed sensors to detect rear wheel slip and modulates the power to prevent wheel spin. The scooter also has ESS, which flashes the taillight when braking in an emergency and 'Ather Fall Safe', which cuts off the motor if the scooter tips over. Â
According to the company, the Rizta has a wading depth of 400 mm and uses IP67-rated battery packs. The company offers a battery warranty of 5 years / 60,000 km.
