ASEAN NCAP crash test - Indonesian Datsun GO scores 2-stars

View Forum Discussion

Last year, Datsun faced widespread criticism for the performance of the GO hatchback in the global NCAP crash test. Along with the India spec Maruti Swift, the GO failed to score even one star from global NCAP, with neither one of the cars being equipped with essential safety features like airbags. Now, the made in Indonesia GO has been tested by ASEAN NCAP and the car has scored 2-stars.

The vehicle tested was powered by a 1.2L petrol engine with the kerb weight coming in at 787 kg. This particular model was equipped with only 1 airbag in the standard variant. The GO scored 6.82 points out of 16 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 46% compliance for Child Occupant Protection (COP).

Further details can be seen in the test report.

In India, Datsun now offers the GO and GO+ with a new T (O) variant that gets a driver airbag.
