ARAI to open doors to visitors once a month

Thanks to BHPian crazypro for bringing this to our notice.

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) will open its doors to visitors once a month. The third Saturday of each month will be reserved to undertake these visits, the first of which takes place on May 24, 2014. ARAI says that such visits will make the general public aware of the organisation and understand how it works.

A maximum of 100 visitors will be allowed, who will be split into two batches of 50 people each. The ARAI website mentions that visitors should be Indian citizens above the age of 25 years. The maximum duration of the visit will be two hours. Visits will be held in the morning and evening. Registration for the visit will have to be done through the ARAI website.

Set up in 1966, ARAI has been authorised by the Government of India to conduct various testing related activities of automobiles and allied industries. The organisation provides technical expertise in R&D, testing, certification, homologation and framing of vehicle regulations. ARAI also has an academy where students from various universities are groomed for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

ARAI is located at Vetal Hill, Off Paud Road, Kothrud, Pune, Maharashtra.
