All-new Porsche flagship electric SUV in the works

The SUV could be offered with three rows of seating - a first for Porsche.

Porsche CEO, Oliver Blume, has confirmed that the company is working on introducing a new all-electric flagship crossover. The new model will be positioned above the Cayenne and Macan offerings. It said to be a "very sporty interpretation" of an SUV.

The new range-topping electric SUV has been codenamed K1 and will be built at Porsche's Leipzig facility in a few years' time. The new electric SUV will incorporate a bunch of technology from the Mission R, including the high-performance battery and the direct oil-cooled electric motor.

The SUV could be offered with three rows of seating - a first for Porsche. It is scheduled to debut sometime in the second half of the decade.

Blume stated that Porsche is hoping the electric SUV will recreate a similar success as its Taycan EV, which currently outsells the brand's 911 models.

Apart from the flagship electric SUV, Porsche is also working on introducing the Macan EV, which is scheduled to arrive in 2024.
