All-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class images leaked!

An official sketch, spy shots of mildly camouflaged test mules, descriptive renders and Mercedes-Benz's new uniform design language have prepared us for the arrival of the W213 E-Class. Now, official exterior pictures of the luxury sedan have been leaked ahead of its debut at the Detroit motor show and the design comes as no surprise.

In simple terms, the new E-Class acts as the missing link between the W205 C-Class and W222 S-Class. The front end features either a twin-slat chrome grille or a more classic three-slat grille with a chunky chrome surround, large intakes integrated into the front bumper (with a chrome accent in select models), a long bonnet and sweptback headlamps with integrated DRLs.

The side profile features a chrome outline around the windows and along the side skirting, with the rear end sporting a chrome embellishment above the number plate, a similar set of tail lights as the C-Class, and more chrome outlining the dual tailpipes.

The new E-Class is expected to get a wheelbase that's 65 mm longer than the outgoing car, with the overall length of the car going up by 43 mm. Engine options are expected to include four-cylinder petrol and diesel mills at launch, with a petrol plug-in hybrid variant being added later on. Detailed specifications will be revealed at the global debut.
