Abarth 595 Competizione on Fiat's website

Now here is some news from Fiat which will make automobile enthusiasts smile. The Abarth 595 Competizione has found its position on Fiat India's official website, indicating a launch soon.

This little car is the performance version of the iconic Fiat 500. Powering it, is a 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 160 HP and 230 Nm of torque, enough to propel this car from 0-100 in a little over 7 seconds. There is no confirmed news on the transmission options but it is likely to come with a 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission.

To distinguish it from its regular sibling, the Abarth version is expected to come with 17" wheels, a sportier bodykit, some body decals and a rear spoiler among other changes. On the inside too, it gets racier front seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, 595 badges and a sunroof.

The Mini Cooper S is the only hot hatchback available in the market, at a price for which average petrolheads will literally have to break the bank to purchase one. Let's hope this Abarth offering is priced more competitively.

The car will be sold through exclusive Abarth outlets - one in each city of Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Delhi.
