5th-gen Honda City could get compact hybrid system

According to a media report, the fifth-generation Honda City might be offered with a compact hybrid system in India.

It was reported last month that Honda was developing a compact hybrid system based on the company's Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (iMMD) hybrid powertrain. It is expected to debut on the next generation Jazz. At present, the Accord is the only hybrid model in the Japanese automaker's India portfolio. But, with the mass adoption of hybrids, the cost of this technology is expected to reduce by 25%.

With regards to the styling, spy images suggest that the fifth-generation Honda City is likely to get large wraparound headlamps and a grille with a thick chrome bar. At the rear, the car could get slim wraparound tail lamps.
