4th-gen Hyundai Tucson teased ahead of global debut

Hyundai has released the first teaser images of the fourth-generation Tucson. The SUV is scheduled to be unveiled on September 15, 2020.

The teaser images partially reveal the front and rear fascia of the new Tucson. It features a completely new grille design. The car gets Hyundai's 'Parametric Hidden Lights'. The car's LED daytime running lights are integrated into the grille itself. At the rear, it has triangular LED tail lights with an LED light bar stretching across the width of the car.

Similarly, the interior has been completely reworked. The new Tucson is likely to be offered in five and seven-seater configurations. Spy images indicate that the SUV could get a 4-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It has a digital instrument cluster and a centre console similar to the Chinese-spec Hyundai Creta. A gloss black centre fascia houses a touchscreen infotainment head-unit.

The current generation Tucson comes with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 153 BHP @ 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm @ 4,000 rpm and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit that produces 182 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1,750-2,750 rpm. Both engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai hasn't disclosed the 4th-gen Tucson's powertrain options yet.
