2024 Dacia Spring EV (Renault Kwid EV) globally unveiled

With Renault bringing in the new Duster to India soon, it remains to be seen whether or not the Spring EV (Kwid EV) also makes it here.

Dacia, a subsidiary brand of Renault, has unveiled the all-new Spring EV. The new Dacia Spring EV previews the next-generation Renault Kwid EV, receiving a comprehensive update both inside and out.

Starting with the exterior, the Spring EV borrows design cues from the brand's other recently unveiled model, the Duster. This includes the upright front end with a grille at the centre and flanked on either side by Y-shaped LED DRLs, while the main headlamp units are positioned below. The front grille features a blacked-out section housing the air vent. The black cladding also runs along the sides and rear of the car, giving it a more rugged appeal.

The tail section also features a redesign, while both the front and rear bumpers come with a sticker finish around the numberplate housing. The rear also features Y-shaped taillights connected by a thick black cladding. The car runs on 15-inch wheels, and the C-pillar features new decals with the model's name.

Inside, the Dacia Spring EV features a completely new dashboard layout. This includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit in the centre, a multi-function three-spoke steering wheel and central air-con vents integrating the Y-shaped design element from the exterior.

The Spring EV also comes packed with a host of features, including cruise control, rear parking sensors, central locking and bi-directional charging; among others. Dacia also offers the EV with ADAS functions, which offer safety tech like advanced emergency braking system, traffic sign recognition, rear park assist, lane change assist, lane keep assist, driver attention warning and a few others.

The 2024 Dacia Spring EV will be offered with two electric motor options, both with a standard 26.8 kWh battery pack offering 220 km of max range. The base and mid-spec trims get a 44 BHP motor, while the top-spec variant comes with a 64 BHP electric motor. A 7 kW AC charger is offered as standard, while the EV is capable of fast-charging via a 30 kW DC charger.

The Dacia Spring EV will go on sale in Europe in mid-2024. With Renault bringing in the new Duster to India soon, it remains to be seen whether or not the Spring EV (Kwid EV) also makes it here.
