2022 Toyota Tundra debuts with a 437 BHP V6-hybrid powertrain

Toyota is yet to announce the pricing of the new Tundra, which is expected to go on sale in the US sometime by the end of this year.

Toyota has unveiled the 2022 Tundra pickup truck in the US market. The 2022 Toyota Tundra now comes with a complete overhaul from its previous model, which has been on sale for over 15 years.

The new (2022) Toyota Tundra is now underpinned by the brand's TGNA-F body-on-frame platform. The new full-size pickup truck also features coil-over springs, electronically adjustable dampers, optional air suspension setup at the rear to raise or lower the truck as required and all-terrain tyres; all of which should allow it to have a vastly improved ride and driveability compared to its previous versions.

The 2022 Tundra also features plenty of cosmetic, comfort and convenience features, both inside and out. The pickup truck comes with LED lighting all around, a large front grille, sculpted hood, muscular fenders and vertically-stacked LED taillights at the back.

On the inside, the 2022 Tundra comes with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, premium upholstery, optional panoramic sunroof, plenty of storage space all around and wireless charging; to name a few.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra will be offered in two body styles: Double Cab and CrewMax. It will feature a rear bed ranging from 5.5 feet to 8.1 feet, depending on the body style selected. The new Tundra now comes with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine.

While the lower trims produce 389 BHP / 649 Nm, the range-topping variant comes with a hybrid setup, which churns out 437 BHP and 790 Nm. All powertrain options come mated with a standard 10-speed automatic transmission unit.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra comes with a towing capacity of 5.4 tonnes and has a payload capacity of 880 kg. Toyota is yet to announce the pricing of the new Tundra, which is expected to go on sale in the US sometime by the end of this year.
