The 2022 Suzuki Baleno has been unveiled in South Africa. Unlike the India-spec Baleno, the global version gets a more powerful 1.5-litre engine.
India is the manufacturing base for the Baleno hatchback. The export version is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm. This is the same engine that powers other models like the Ciaz, Ertiga, S-Cross, Brezza and XL6.
On the other hand, we get the 1.2-litre petrol motor that makes 89 BHP and 113 Nm. It comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
In terms of design, the export version is identical to the Indian-spec Baleno. The car features an updated front fascia featuring a slimmer grille and new LED headlamps. The car also gets a redesigned rear end and an updated dashboard with a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system.
