Yamaha has revealed the 2021 Fascino 125. The scooter comes with a hybrid system for the first time. It will be launched in the Indian market later this year.
The Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid is powered by a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.08 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
All of this is pretty standard. But the interesting bit is the addition of a 'smart motor generator' (SMG). It offers a power boost when accelerating and also gives the scooter automatic start / stop capability. The rider receives a notification on the instrument cluster when the hybrid system is activated.
The Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid comes equipped with an LED headlight with an LED daytime running lights and an LED tail light, digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. It supports the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X app, which offers features such as answer-back, locate my vehicle, riding history, parking record and hazard.
The scooter comes with an optional 190 mm front disc brake as well. Other features include 21-litre underseat storage, optional USB charging port and a multi-function key with seat opening system.
