For 2018, Triumph has made a few changes to the Tiger 800. The bikes get an all-LED twin-pod headlight with integrated LED DRLs and a 5-way adjustable windscreen. In addition to the full colour 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, the 2018 models get new handlebar-mounted, illuminated switchgear. The XR range comes equipped 43 mm upside down Showa front forks and Showa monoshock in the rear, while the XCx comes with WP suspension.
The 2018 Tiger 800 is powered by an 800 cc, in-line 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 94 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 79 Nm of torque @ 8,050 rpm. The company claims that it has made more than 200 changes to the chassis and engine. The engine is now mated to a revised 6-speed gearbox with a shorter first gear, while the new free-flow exhaust is lighter than the one on the previous model. Depending on the variant, the bike comes with up to 5 riding modes - Road, Off-Road, Off-Road Pro, Sport and Track.
All three variants get 305 mm twin floating discs with Brembo 2-piston calipers in the front and a single 255 mm disc with a Nissin single-piston caliper in the rear with switchable ABS. The XR range of bikes ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire spoke wheels (base XR gets 10-spoke alloy wheels). The XCx variant rides on 21-inch and 17-inch spoked wheels in the front and rear respectively. Feature list also includes cruise control, digital tachometer, gear position indicator, service indicator, ambient temperature readout, among others.
