2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS launched at Rs. 2.75 crore

Porsche recently unveiled the 911 GT3 RS 991 gen-2. According to a media report, the sports car has now been launched in India at a price of Rs. 2.75 crore (ex-showroom, India).

The 991 gen-2 GT3 RS features subtle changes on the exterior. It gets a redesigned front bumper with a tweaked front splitter and LED DRL strips on either side. Circular LED headlamps have been carried over from the previous model. The front wings and bonnet are made out of carbon fibre. The bonnet features NACA ducts.

The GT3 RS is characterised by louvers on the front fenders and intakes positioned in front of the rear wheel arches. At the rear, you find a fixed spoiler and a redesigned rear bumper with twin exhaust tips in the centre. The optional Weissach Pack saves 29 kg by adding a carbon fibre roof and magnesium alloy wheels. The GT3 RS also gets a lightweight exhaust, engine cover and a rear windshield.

On the inside, the new GT3 RS comes with carbon bucket seats, lightweight door panels, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a 5-dial instrument cluster. The interior is wrapped in alcantara upholstery with carbon trim. The optional Clubsport pack adds a roll over bar, 6-point racing harnesses, manual fire extinguisher and preparation for battery disconnect switch for no extra cost.

The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is powered by an updated 4.0-litre, naturally aspirated, flat-6 cylinder engine that produces 514 BHP @ 8,250 rpm and 470 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The claimed 0-100 km/h time is 3.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 312 km/h.

The new GT3 RS rides on 20-inch, centre-locking wheels in the front and 21-inch wheels in the rear shod with 265/35 and 325/30 section tyres in the front and rear respectively. The GT3 RS comes with rear-axle steering as well. Carbon composite rotors handle the braking duties with 6-piston callipers in the front and 4-piston callipers in the rear.

The new 911 GT3 RS will make its public debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The made to order car is expected to reach the customers from mid-April, starting with Germany.
