2017 Toyota Corolla facelift unveiled in Russia

The 2017 Toyota Corolla has made its world premiere in Russia. Though it is just a mid-life facelift, Toyota designers seem to have made significant changes on the new Corolla, both on the inside as well as outside.

The front fascia of the facelifted Corolla gets a pair of new LED headlamps that come with prominent DRL strips. The front grille too has been redesigned and also gets chrome detailing, which continues inside the headlamp housings as well. The front bumper now gets a wider air dam, with circular fog lamps placed on the extreme corners. There aren't any major changes on the side profile, except the 15 mm increase in ride height and a new set of alloy wheels. The tail end gets new LED taillights, which are joined by a prominent chrome bar on the tailgate.

Changes on the inside aren't as apparent as that on the outside. The new dashboard of the Corolla facelift gets circular AC vents on both sides, while the centre console consists of a new touchscreen infotainment system with navigation support. Additionally, the instrument cluster's 4.2-inch MID screen now works on an updated software.

Engine options on offer with the Corolla facelift will be revealed later, though Toyota claims that the Corolla facelift will be more refined than the model it replaces.

The facelifted 2017 Corolla will launch in Russia later this year, while Toyota India will be launching this updated model next year.
