2017 Toyota Corolla Altis facelift launched at Rs. 15.88 lakh

Toyota has launched the Corolla Altis facelift in India at prices starting from Rs. 15.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car will be available with four petrol and two diesel variants. The base J trim of the outgoing model has now been discontinued, while the diesel range still doesn't get a top-end trim.

Cosmetically, the new Corolla Altis gets revised front and rear ends. The front grille is sleeker and is flanked on either side by new LED headlamps with DRLs. The bumper is also newly designed and houses a wider air-dam that integrates into the foglamp housings on either side. Not much has changed on the side profile of the car, save for a new set of 16-inch alloys. Meanwhile, the rear gets a slightly tweaked bumper and new LED taillights. The Corolla Altis will be available in a new Phantom Brown colour, in addition to the 6 previous options - White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Mica Metallic, Champagne Mica Metallic, Grey Metallic, Super White and Celestial Black.

The interiors gets a dual tone theme, a revised instrument cluster, reclining rear seats and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (petrol only) with MirrorLink and navigation support. Safety features on offer include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, hill start assist control and vehicle stability control.

No mechanical changes have been made to the Corolla Altis facelift, as it continues to be offered with two engine options - a 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder petrol rated at 138 BHP @ 6,400 rpm and 173 Nm @ 4,000 rpm and a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel that churns out 87 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 205 Nm @ 1,800-2,800 rpm.
