2017 Hyundai Verna unveiled in China

The 2017 Hyundai Verna has been unveiled at the 2016 Chengdu Motor Show. It is expected to go on sale in China later this year, while the India launch will take place in 2017.

The new Verna is based on Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. As a result, it gets a large hexagonal grille and swept-back headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps. The low slung front fascia makes it look quite similar to the new Elantra, which was recently launched in India. The side profile is characterized by a sloping roof line and petal-shaped alloys.

The China-spec Verna gets an all-black dashboard. The centre console houses an 8-inch touchscreen system along with the automatic climate control. There is also an engine start/stop button on offer.

The 2017 Hyundai Verna will be offered with the option of a 1.4-litre and a 1.6-litre petrol engine in China, rated at 100 BHP and 123 BHP respectively. Transmission duties will be handled by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The India-spec car will also be offered with the existing range of 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines.
