Audi has imported a single unit each of the 2017 A5 Sportback, and its sportier version - the Audi S5 Sportback. Records on Zauba indicate that the models have been imported for homologation, pointing towards an upcoming launch. The A5 and S5 Sportback were recently revealed through a set of official images, and will be making their official debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

The import data further suggests that the A5 Sportback imported into India is in the 35 TDI trim. This means that it houses a 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 187 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox.

Meanwhile, the more powerful, S5 Sportback is powered by a 3.0-litre, V6 petrol engine, capable of churning out 349 BHP and 500 Nm of peak torque. It gets an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The claimed 0-100 km/h time of the S5 Sportback is 4.7 seconds, while the top speed is 250 km/h.

With the cars being imported into India even before their world debut, Audi appears to be planning to launch them in the country as soon as possible.
