2016 BMW X1 front caught partially un-covered

The 2016 BMW X1 (F48) has been caught partially unclad. Cosmetic changes are evidently subtle, but the front bumper has been reworked and the vents appear smaller than those of the current X1. Earlier reports also confirm that the new X1 will be smaller in length, because it has been developed on a different platform.

The crossover will be based on the UKL platform that is common to models like the 2-Series Active Tourer & the 2014 MINI. This means the next generation X1 will be a front wheel drive model. Reports suggest that the new X1 will have improved interior space (including headroom) and higher efficiency figures. An image of the interiors also shows the new X1's redesigned dashboard and new steering wheel.
