The 2016 BMW 7-Series was spotted without any camouflage earlier this year. While the luxury limousine’s launch date has not been officially declared yet, an image of the car’s instrument cluster and steering controls has been captured. The image was reportedly put up on Instagram by a BMW test driver before being taken down soon after.
The car features a 3-spoke, leather wrapped, multi-function steering wheel draped in a heavy dose of chrome for the accents and mounted controls. The instrument cluster features a blend of analogue and digital gauges and the car in the image was engaged in sport mode, as shown by the ‘sport’ warning light and the red back-light outline in the gauges.
Reports suggest that the car will get BMW’s next-generation iDrive system, featuring a touchscreen infotainment interface with gesture recognition. The new 7-Series’ launch was initially expected at the Geneva motor show, but it could now make its debut at the Frankfurt motor show.
