2015 Audi Q7 to get an RS variant

Audi recently took the reins off the all new Q7 SUV. Known for its large proportions and space, the Q7 will reportedly receive an RS variant as well. The 2nd generation Q7 is lighter by a good 325 kgs over the outgoing model, and the addition of the performance powertrain could better test the new chassis.

According to the report by Top Gear, the RS Q7 is likely to feature a high performance diesel engine. The petrol engine could be the 4.0-liter V8 derived from the RS6 estate that makes 552 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. The petrol variant would rival the likes of the BMW X5M and the GL 63 AMG. The RS Q7 can also be expected to get a reworked suspension set up, lowered ground clearance, better brakes and more aggressive styling to differentiate it from the other variants.

The Q7 was recently unveiled with a choice of 3.0-liter diesel, petrol and hybrid engines along with a 2.0-liter petrol as well.
