Japanese two-wheeler giant Yamaha has unveiled the YZF-R25 motorcycle in Indonesia. The bike will be launched in the country in July and will be priced at 53,000,000 Rupiah, which is equivalent to Rs. 2.71 lakh.
The R25's styling is inspired by the YZR-M1. The bike features a full fairing with twin headlamps and air duct. It has a split seat and LED tail lamp.
Powering the bike is a newly developed 249 cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, fuel-injected engine that produces 35.5 bhp @ 12000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque @ 10000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The R25 uses a lightweight steel frame with minimal curves and weld points. The bike is 2090 mm long, 720 mm wide and 1135 mm high and weighs 166 kg. It has a telescopic fork at the front and a monocross suspension at the rear. It has 17-inch wheels shod with 110/70-17 and 140/70-17 tyres at the front and rear respectively. Single disc brakes on both wheels provided stopping power for the bike.
Yamaha will bring the R25 to India later this year.
