Why I replaced my 3rd-gen Honda City AT with a Ford EcoSport diesel

It all happened in just 10 days and my heart pounded as I watched her drive away.

BHPian ManasN95 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Hello all, as it turned out, despite taking all the expenses into consideration, we just made a very impromptu decision to let go of the Honda City. She was already 12 years old, and while the running costs were totally in her favour, the maintenance costs were rising, and the suspension and its noise were a never-ending issue. I had spent close to Rs. 40,000 on getting the suspension rectified but it still continued to be an ear sore. The tyres were another expense, and all in all, we thought of getting something else now.

Surprisingly with all the OLX hunts for Germans and the S-Crosses, we had overlooked the Ford Ecosport, and it was like a eureka moment after learning of the service costs, and the mileage the diesel engine offered and it all came together. We were kind of bored with the City as well, it was that reliable - and I personally wanted to get a diesel before the government put them off the roads for good.

So the decision to shift to the Ford Ecosport, to shortlisting and finalising one, and simultaneously selling the Honda City was done in under 10 days.

Hence, I sold my darling Almira yesterday, for a good sum of Rs. 3 Lakh, which is good value, having bought her in 2020 for Rs. 4.10 Lakh. My heart pounded as I watched her drive away, but she has gone to a good person in the same Honda City group, hence I would keep getting her glimpses. I would miss her for sure. The hottest Honda City for me, maybe barring the 1st generation.
