The updated Tiguan has been spotted testing in India, which suggests that the 5-seater SUV could be re-launched in the Indian market.
The Tiguan facelift gets subtle design updates. It gets re-profiled twin-pod LED headlamps that have twin L-shaped LED daytime running lights and a redesigned front bumper. At the rear, the SUV comes with new tail lamp units and bumper with chrome inserts.
On the inside, the Tiguan gets a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and a new touchscreen infotainment head-unit that is likely to get wireless Apple CarPlay.
The Tiguan is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine shared with the Tiguan Allspace. This engine delivers 187 BHP and 320 Nm and comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Rumours suggest that VW could also offer a new entry-level variant with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. This variant could get a front-wheel drive layout.
