Volkswagen has teased the Polo GTI performance hatchback, ahead of its official launch in India. Various reports have suggested that the GTI will be launching in India in mid-November. It will be brought into the country through the CBU route.
The Polo GTI was earlier showcased at this year's Auto Expo in February. It is powered by a 1.8-litre TSI engine that churns out 189 BHP and 235 Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed DSG unit, VW claims that the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, while its top speed is 235 km/h.
Volkswagen will also be adding exclusive features on the Polo GTI to justify its relatively higher price tag. It is expected to get full LED headlamps, 17-inch alloys, red brake calipers, and a GTI-spec rear spoiler.
