Volkswagen Ameo bookings open on May 12, 2016

Volkswagen has announced that it will start accepting bookings for the upcoming Ameo compact sedan from May 12, 2016.

The company will conduct a 17-city roadshow, which is scheduled to be held from May 12, 2016 to July 2, 2016. It will give customers across these cities (Pune, Surat, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Chennai, Cochin, Nagpur, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bhubaneshwar, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Mumbai) an opportunity to see the Ameo, explore its various features and make bookings.

During course of this multi-city preview, Volkswagen will start accepting bookings for the car across all dealerships. Prospective customers will also be able to access information about the Ameo from a mobile application or the Volkswagen corporate website. The mobile application will be made available on android and iOS platforms.

The Volkswagen Ameo made its world debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. It will be available with two engine options - 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder MPI petrol and 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder TDI diesel.

The Volkswagen Ameo will come equipped with dual front airbags and ABS as standard fitment across variants. The car will also get features like cruise control, rain sensing wipers and static cornering lights.

The Ameo will compete with the Ford Figo Aspire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Tata Zest.
