USA: Customise your Jeep with a retro-style woodgrain trim

Owners of the limited-production SUVs will also get to be part of the firm's 'Performance Art Concierge' and join lifestyle automotive events.

Motive, a Texas-based firm, has announced a limited production run of Performance Art Grand Wagoneers. The highlight of these cars is the woodgrain trim that gives them a bit of a retro flair.

Motive orders the Grand Wagoneer directly from Jeep and then sends them to Aria, a California-based firm, for the special paint job. The woodgrain is hand painted on the vehicle, with an extra layer of clearcoat applied on top for protection. Motive offers two versions of the Grand Wagoneer. The first is the "Classic Woody Edition", which gets a White exterior with dark walnut trim and 22-inch Heritage aluminium wheels. The other is the "Grand Touring Edition", which gets a Silver exterior with blackwood trim and 22-inch chrome-finished forged wheels from Vossen.

Motive also offers both versions with a bunch of other custom woodgrain options, ranging from Redwood, Oak and Hawaiian Koa. The SUVs are also offered in multiple exterior paint schemes: White, Black, Silver and Grey. Other upgrades offered on the limited edition Grand Wagoneers include an Air-Speed rear spoiler, a performance brake package and a polished stainless exhaust with a sportier note. Customers can also opt for accessories like a special leather luggage set matching the interior of the SUV and even a picnic basket.

15 examples of each colour combination will be built by Motive. Owners of the limited-production SUVs will also get to be part of the firm's 'Performance Art Concierge' and join lifestyle automotive events.

The first finished example is expected to be showcased this spring in California - at Motive's new facility. In terms of pricing, the limited-production SUVs will start with a price tag of US$ 1,50,000 which is a little over $61,000 more than the standard Jeep Grand Wagoneers.
