Updates on gen 3 Hayabusa: Installed Yoshimura exhaust & new tyres

My only objective was to benefit from the weight savings and did not want to get the ECU/dyno tuning done on my motorcycle.

Nice pics comrades!!!

Here's my Gen 3 with new Road 6 tires:

Few updates:

Decided to bite the bullet and ordered a Yoshimura AT2 full system exhaust. A little under USD 1000 inclusive of taxes. Got a really good price as the full price is USD 1349 + taxes.

My only objective was to benefit from the weight savings and did not want to get the ECU/dyno tuning done on my motorcycle.

I contacted and received confirmation from - Yoshimura USA official YouTube page & 2wheeldynoworks.com & mooremafia.com (two of the leading tuners for the Gen 3 Hayabusa) that it is perfectly safe to run a full system exhaust (aka de-cat) on the Gen 3 as it runs rich from the factory and that an aftermarket full system will not harm the engine in any way. One of the tuners said that it actually runs better as the full system leans it out from the factory rich tune.

Further researching IMHO makes me believe that the Power Commander 5/6 is technically trash and does no good. An ECU tune is the only way to go if the objective is performance gains.

On the topic of ECU tuning, and please take this with a pinch of salt : my understanding is that the tuners were hard pressed to extract more power from the Gen 3 engine (stock engine + full system exhaust + performance air filter & optionally velocity stacks) but were not very successful in doing so in their initial test runs and had to resort to some crazy changes to the ECU/engine parameters which in my opinion is not very good for the life of the stock engine.
