The Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster was recently unveiled at the 2017 India Bike Week. The bike is based on the Bonneville Bobber and is the latest addition to the company’s modern classic range.
The Bonneville Speedmaster is based around a tubular steel cradle frame and has a wheelbase of 1,510 mm. The seat height is 705 mm and the bike weighs 245.5 kg. It comes with a 12-litre fuel tank.
The Speedmaster borrows a few styling elements from the Bonneville Bobber like the round LED headlight, unique rear wheel hub and the twin-chrome exhausts with slash-cut tips. It gets sweptback handle bars, dual-tone fuel tank and a stepped seat. The bike rides on KYB 41 mm front forks and has a KYB monoshock at the rear.
The Bonneville Speedmaster is powered by a 1,200cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine. The UK-spec bike produces 76 BHP @ 6,100 rpm and 106 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm - the same is expected on the Indian version. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission via a torque-assist clutch. It has two riding modes - Road and Rain. This bike comes equipped with twin 310 mm discs in the front with 2-piston calipers and a single 255 mm disc brake in the rear with a single piston Nissin caliper.
Other features include an LCD multi-functional display integrated into the instrument pod, ABS, traction control, cruise control, engine immobilizer, ride-by-wire and heated grips.
The Bonneville Speedmaster is expected to be launched in India later next year.
