With the New Delhi government reducing the taxes and duties on hybrid vehicles, manufacturers of such cars are cutting the prices of their hybrid vehicles. Last week we reported that Maruti Suzuki had reduced the price of the SHVS-equipped Ertiga and Ciaz. Toyota has also cut down the price of the Camry Hybrid.
The car is now priced at Rs. 30.90 lakh - Rs. 2.30 lakh lesser than before. The petrol version of the Camry will continue to be sold at Rs. 30.28 lakh.
The Camry Hybrid is powered by a 2,494cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that develops 158 BHP @ 5,700 rpm and 213 Nm of torque @ 4,500 rpm. This car also has an electric motor that develops 141 BHP and 270 Nm of torque.
The Camry Hybrid also benefits from the Government of India's FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles) scheme. The car is eligible for an incentive of Rs. 70,000.
