Toyota Rumion MPV unveiled in India ahead of launch

The Rumion is a re-badged Maruti Ertiga. It is the brand's fourth MPV after the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Vellfire.

Toyota has unveiled the India-spec Rumion. The MPV is based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and will be launched in the coming weeks. It will be available in 6 variants: S MT/AT, G MT, and V MT/AT, S MT CNG

The Rumion marks Toyota's entry into the B-MPV segment. It is the brand's fourth MPV after the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Vellfire. The Rumion, however, will be manufactured and supplied by Maruti Suzuki.

Like other badge-engineered models in Toyota's line-up, the Rumion too gets a few cosmetic changes. The MPV has a trapezoidal grille similar to the Crysta, a redesigned front bumper and new dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the Rumion features a beige dashboard with faux wood inserts and beige upholstery. Some of the features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and cruise control. The MPV will be available in a 7-seat configuration.

Powering the Rumion is the familiar 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 103 BHP and 138 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The Rumion also gets a factory-fitted CNG option.
