Toyota RAV4 spotted testing in India

The car could be imported in limited numbers as a completely built unit (CBU).

Back in August 2020, we had reported that Toyota might launch the RAV4 SUV in India in 2021. The SUV has now been spotted testing. The car could be imported in limited numbers as a completely built unit (CBU).

The RAV4 is based on the TNGA platform. The SUV has a typical Toyota grille, squared-off wheel arches, chrome door handles, 5-spoke alloy wheels, a chrome bar running the width of the car at the rear, and twin exhaust pipes. The vehicle pictured here appears to have a "HYBRID" badge on the front left fender. It also appears to have black interiors and a floating touchscreen head-unit.

In global markets, The RAV4 is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain producing 216 BHP. The engine comes paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and has all-wheel drive.
