Toyota & Lexus unveil 15 new EV concepts

Both Toyota and Lexus are targeting 3.5 million electric vehicle sales globally by 2030, this includes BEVs and FCEVs.

Toyota President, Akio Toyoda has unveiled 15 new EV concepts, which preview Toyota and Lexus' future all-electric model lineup. Toyoda also confirmed that the 15 new concepts are part of the 30 models planned for launch by Toyota and Lexus by 2030.

The concepts showcased cover a wide range of vehicle segments, from reasonably-priced mass-production models to a pair of electric supercars. The lineup also includes compact and full-sized SUVs, off-roaders, pickup trucks, sedans and even a few commercial vehicles.

While details of each model are yet to be announced, Akio Toyoda mentioned that Lexus in particular will introduce an EV in all segments by 2030. The premium car brand will go all-EV in Europe, North America and China by 2030 and discontinue ICE models globally by 2035.

Both Toyota and Lexus are targeting 3.5 million electric vehicle sales globally by 2030, this includes BEVs and FCEVs. The Japanese carmaker has also increased its investment in battery development by GBP 3.3 billion.

The company also stated that both Toyota and Lexus will achieve carbon neutrality by 2035.
