Toyota has officially launched the Hilux pick-up truck in India. It is available in three variants with prices starting at Rs. 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Hilux shares its underpinnings with the Fortuner. It features a bold front end with a large hexagonal grille that has a chrome surround. The front bumper has an integrated skid plate and L-shaped fog lamp pods.
Inside, the Hilux comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, ventilated seats with leather upholstery, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control and automatic headlamps.
The Hilux packs a decent safety kit as well. It comes with 7 airbags, a rear-view camera, Vehicle stability control, traction control, front parking sensors and Variable Flow Control steering
In India, the Hilux is offered with a 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 201 BHP (204 BHP - 6MT) and 500 Nm (420 Nm - 6MT). The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It comes with a four-wheel-drive system with an electronic differential lock, a limited-slip differential and Active Traction Control.
