Toyota has unveiled the 2016 Etios facelift in Brazil. Christened as the Etios Platinum, the facelift gets significant changes on the outside as well as inside of the car. Toyota is expected to launch the facelifted Etios in India during this year's festive season. Recent spy shots of the new Etios in India suggest that Toyota will carry over most of the exterior design cues of the Etios Platinum to the India-spec model.
On the outside, the Etios facelift gets a new V-shaped grille with the T-logo located in the centre and a chrome bar running along the top edge. The biggest change at the front is the new bumper, which gets a broader air dam and large black housings for the round fog lamps. Side profile of the facelifted Etios is similar to that of the model it replaces, though it gets new 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the car has been given a redesigned bumper.
On the inside, the Etios Platinum features an all-black dashboard with piano black inserts on the centre console. Other changes include a new steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. Toyota has also given the car a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. However, test mules of the Etios facelift spotted in India reveal that the India-spec car will feature the same cabin characteristics that are found in the current model.
The Brazil-spec Etios Platinum is powered by a 1.5-litre, flex-fuel engine, which has been given a 10 BHP bump in power. In the Indian market, the Etios facelift will retain the existing 1.5-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines.
